Adam Pelech, Ryan Pulock, Sebastian Aho, Alexander Romanov and Samuel Bolduc have a grand total of two assists between them and are struggling in their own zone as well. Zero communication,missed assignments.
Pelech and pulock are the top shut down pair and should be playing together. Dobson appears to be putting it together. Injuries have slowed pelech. Pulock missed some time last season. Aho is nothing more than a bottom pairing depth d man. Too small to play physical good skater yet a d mess. And romanov just like the rest wont add offense from the blue line. Only dobson gets points yet isn't a top pp d man running a top ranked pp. That's why if/when isles fall out of it by tdl pelech should be peddled to a playoff caliber team in need of a shut down d man before 3 slows into more decline. Could get $5.7×6 off the books. Or move pulock and get $6.1×7 off the books. 6 will be well into decline long before that deal runs out. And isle d men due to lack of firepower up front try to do too much at times, get caught, or make mistakes because of that. Lane can't get that mix-once again-between play d or try high scoring game which as av's proved lsles will lose everytime. And don't forget 31 year old mayfield-he of the 7 year deal-who adds nothing offensively as well. The d men slow-lack the great skater or catalyst on each pair making transition game just about non-existent. Remember leddy/toews? Dynasty always had a pairing with great skater on it. Potvin did it all. Morrow/langevin/lane stayed back on d. Had persson, t. jonsson, added mcewen for each pairing to move puck.
