I see we’ve gotten to the point where Berube’s ego is so big he’s not willing to budge on his viewpoint that Scandella is some defensive God… so much so that’d he’d rather remove one bad defenseman and our best performing forward so far in order to make lineup changes AROUND Scandella.

Everyone here is looking at Vrana’s 3P, +2 in 5G, and not that his CF% is 38.1%. Watching the replays, he’s lost on the ice when he doesn’t have the puck, and when he does have the puck, he’s turning it over.
He’s probably a little out of sync, and getting scratched for a mental reset and extra practice time isn’t going to kill him. It’s also a convenient excuse to give Bort and Prune some minutes while keeping Hayes and Blais as bottom-6 utility players.

Maybe give Vrana more than 10 minutes of ice time a night and stop putting him on a checking line with slow skaters. He needs to be on a line with some speed because his shot is deadly and he can score off the rush if he has some speed on his line. This better work for Berube or he should get canned. By all means this is a bonehead move. Hopefully it proves me wrong tho
