Why are we still struggling to find bottom-six forwards,……..I’m tired of only two lines being able to play. Also, the 7 defenceman scenario is NOT working!!
If number 2 is good on offense it means our opponents are doing doubles (U2) (( Jeff Jack S on)).
If the puck is skipping in our zone that means our man is getting jacked via U2 energetics.
Our defense has to start with our goalies and the team catering to our goalies. The defense needs to know the differences between Jack and Skinner and we need to know who too play. Which opponent to Jack and who too Skin ( the starting Goalie).
We cater too the goalie.
Let's start by eliminating turnover to give our goalie maximum time to read and react.
The Edmonton defense is under coached clearly ~ egregious fundamental errors all over the landscape… goalies out of the net taking huge risks… Defenders stuck in the offensive zone yielding odd man rushes… this team is a mess. Too bad Eckholm can't skate for 40 minutes.. The team was hard pressed to win with Connor… without him bet the Oilers at your own risk… The Rangers have a full squad and a much better goalie with tighter defense in front of the crease. …. I hope adorable Jay Woodcroft's ploy to get the most out of his team isn't : ~~"Can you guys please bring your A game?"
Find ways to outwait the opposition in the Neutral zone, need to find better ways of entering the offensive zone so let's look to be patient when making the decision to pass the puck to a charging forwards and run up the possession time. Fill the corners in every single time the other team goes into the corners, Punish this even if you take penalties but we have to scare teams out of the corners more and intercept centering passes and net front traffic. Pin players as long as you can, be dirty about it within reason.
Played better than our record shows that's a good one if they played better than the record shows they would have more than 3 points the team is a one man show with zero goaltending have fun in the basement Soilers
