Edmonton, given the expectations

Site sucks app sucks oilers suck flames suck and none of them should suck

We are definitely getting a fight Sunday and the refs better swallow their whistle

When you get shutout by an ancient Jonathan Quick, you know your team is in deep trouble.

Yes
Gillkid615
Certainly the Oilers. The team is being built up like the mid 2010s Blackhawks and Penguins. Could you imagine if the 2015 penguins just missed the playoffs? Or the 2013 Blackhawks? I’m not saying that gonna happen bc I truly don’t think it will but imagine what the reaction would be if they miss

The flames. Now hear me out.
The oilers have things to feel good about. They still have McDavid and Draisaitl. Absolute worst case scenerio they get to watch their players win personal accolades, and their team will still be FUN. Yeah the Nurse and Campbell contracts arent very good, but really thats about it.
Calgary is just bad through and through. Half the team has NTM/NTCs. Kadri and Huberdeau are producing under a point per game combined for a cap hit of 17.5 mill for 6 more seasons.
Both teams it looks bad and it hurts but at least the Oilers have hope to compete and turn it around. Flames fans have already resigned all hope and accepted the decade of mediocrity facing the team. Thats the difference.

Avalanche getting blown out tn deserves some coverage. I know they are undefeated, but tn was wild to witness

I mean I’m pretty damn depressed rn so I guess I’ll say the Flames 😂

100% the Oilers. This isn’t even a question worth asking.
Do you really think anyone with any knowledge is going to say the Flames?
Friggin_Grease
Gotta be Edmonton given that offseason of “we’re sick of not winning the cup, we’re gonna come out guns a blazin’!”
I don’t even know who said it, and I’m definitely paraphrasing. But I got the feeling they were mad and gonna do something about it. Instead they came out like a wet fart in church

Doesn’t matter to me. I’m just happy seeing them both suffer.

Is it Christmas already?

Oilers, no question. I honestly don’t really care for hockey and I’m just outside visiting from all, but I sit next to an Oilers fan at work… I’m so excited just to soak up his sports misery.
HanSolo5643
Edmonton, and it’s not that close. Edmonton had expectations of contending for the cup. Calgary was hoping just to jump back into the playoffs.
skryb
you’re asking who *feels* the most pain right now
i’d say **not** the oilers… pretty sure they’re all dead inside at the moment
AisbeforeB
Well the sharks haven’t even won a game yet and they are currently at a -21 differential 🙁

The modern battle of Alberta… Who is more disappointing
Sledge_Antilles
The Battle of Alberta is really being affected by the writer’s strike.

Flames, everyone expects Edmonton to turn it around and play decently again. Flames players turned against their coach and blamed the bad season on him than with a new coach they come out and play just as bad if not worse. I don’t think many outside of Calgary see the flames turning this around there for Flame fans should feel more pain know they are more likely in for an other long underwhelming season with contract that are looking worse daily.
