The Underrated Comeback Season of Zach Parise

We talk a lot about the 13 year contract, but I want to give credit where it’s due as he puts up solid numbers this season.

  1. Fun fact: Starting with tomorrow's game, Zach Parise is exactly halfway through his contract with the Wild.

  2. Mn gets guys that get injured a lot. Look at Marion Gaborik for god sakes. I just hope Parise can stay healthy and keep producing, as I’m a Minnesota Wild fan. Fingers crossed 🤞. Thanks for the video Shannon and putting a spotlight on this topic.

  3. So much for all the non-wild fans and everyone else in hockey saying those are the worst contracts in the league now, eh? Maybe in 5 years, but not now

  4. Parise has a full no move contract so I don't think he is going anywhere even if Paul Fenton wanted him to. I don't think he would ever wave it. He is like the Joe Mauer of the Wild.

  5. Spot on. As a wild fan it’s been hard to watch him battling with injuries. Hopefully his back is 100% again and he is getting back to his best. Heart and soul of the team. Hustles and works hard every shift. One of the best players down low, net front, tips in the league. I think he’s payed a price for playing the way he does being a smaller guy. Fingers crossed he stays healthy. Also side note Kunin reminds me of a young Parise with his tenacity on the puck.

  6. I see nobody mentioning the fact that dude got back surgery over the off-season, something he had apparently been putting off for a while. It seems that has really helped Parise out. I know the dude is kind of made of glass, but was he lowkey injured ALL the time because of his back for the past couple of years?

  7. Good player; bad contract. I think even if Fenton wanted to trade him few GMs would bite on that contract, though maybe a few of the more desperate ones and it'd depend how much salary Minnesota's willing to retain. Incidentally, the "we screwed up on the contract so we'll retain some salary on this end" deals annoy me.

  8. Wow… I look though nhl stats daily and didn’t even know about Parise….. this is why we love you

  9. He should be an all star and I hate the wild as an avs fan. He’s a gamer. If he wasn’t so reckless early on in his career his injuries may have not happened and he would be at elite level

  10. Miss him in NJ, was my favorite. Still one of my fav players though

  11. 16-17 and 17-18 he was playing with his bad back……which he had surgery on at the end of last year. So far……..he's looked like the Parise of old. I still don't like his penchant for cross ice passes that never work…..and yell at my TV every time he turns it over…….he's still gives you everything he's got EVERY SHIFT.

  12. As a Minnesota fan, it’s believed that he’s fully healthy for the first time in a while. He’s a great locker room guy as well.

  13. Another great University of North Dakota Alumnus! It's really too bad that injuries have greatly affected his NHL career.
