What’s the path out of this mess for the Oilers?

The Oilers have stumbled out of the gate this season and are riding a four-game losing skid with a 1-5-1 record, not to mention an injury to superstar Connor McDavid. TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button guides us through the path out of this mess for the Oilers.

  1. Button is a Oiler fan boy, only he picked the Oilers to win the cup. Vegas has the Leafs as the best Canadian pick but Button has all this crap to say about the Leafs roster even though their issues are no where near what the Oilers have going on relying on 2 guys, Leon and Connor, to carry everything. Edmonton has ALWAYS sucked, during the Connor era, from the blueline back and love taking the Leafs sloppy second guys that were free to walk because they couldn't get it done in Toronto.

  2. In response to the question that forms the title of the relevant video, it’s not so clear what path there is out of the mess in which the Oilers now find themselves.

  3. Justin Trudeau must have taken over the GM position after the playoffs. Instituted a policy of softness that gives everyone a chance to win! Unlike Vegas and Colorado who keep all the wins for themselves – how selfish!

  4. Lol edmonton relies on 2 guys to win…every1 else on their squad has proven to be scrubs…if mcdavid doesnt play god level this team is going nowhere

  5. Coming into this season, the Oilers had the 3rd best goal differential and 2nd best record in the league since mid 21/22 season. Remember, its not specifically about how many goals you score, or let it, its about the DIFFERENTIAL.
So Jay Woodcroft's implementation of the box zone 5v5 system (which everyone knew would stiffle their offense and their best player and his best attributes) has been a complete disaster. Predicted by many, now its reality. Fire this clown.

  6. They need to play more aggresive in their own zone and stop being reckless with their handling of the puck, i swear i havent seen more turnovers in the start of their season since the dark ages. Their grit has decreased significantly since their cup run in 2021-22, that alone shouldve made kostin and bjugstad signings mandatory over bouchard and mcleod. Their defense speaks for itself. Worst in the league by far. I feel really bad for the goaltenders and the stars at this point.

  7. Funny how Bjugstad, Shore and Yamo are all out scoring the Oiler bottom six……….
