Only 1 even strength goal in the last two games against an AHL team and a beaten up Panthers team. On paper, Offensively the Leafs arguably have the best top 9 in the league… 1 even strength goal against two weak teams is unacceptable.

Honestly John I agree with you 100 percent. Even though we play Washington tonight and barely won against Tampa, this team is a disaster as you say. This defence needs to be better and needs another physical defencemen because McCabe can’t do it on his own, everyone else on defence is playing like they just don’t care and that has to change. As far as the forwards go, we haven’t seen much from Knies, Domi, Bertuzzi, Matthews after he scored a hat trick in two games. Like this team doesn’t show up when it matters and I know that will change when the season continues but if the Leafs keep playing the way they do then a trade or something needs to happen. But also the goalie situation needs to change. Woll had his redemption game against Tampa Bay and played fantastic but there is something wrong with Samsonov and if he can’t turn his game around at all then a trade is a must and you either roll with Woll the rest of the way through the season or you trade for a legitimate starting goalie. But I agree with everything you have said and also being scored on first in 5 games and have to battle back everytime, it feels like last season as well. Things need to change or this team will have to blow up and moves will need to happen.
