  1. Great team win! I'm happy with how Mitts has developed the last couple seasons, a bit of a late bloomer perhaps. Also thought Tuch had a strong game and regarding the PK, I think I Greenway has really made a big difference. Glad he's healthy now. Additionally, Sabres are lucky to have guys like Bryson available for depth.

  2. I love the way Granato has the back of every player. I'm sure he holds them accountable outside the media view, but when it comes to media/outsiders trying to throw shade at individual players, Donnie Meatballs will have none of it. Initially in previous seasons it was backing up Rasmus Dahlin. Now its Jacob Bryson. Notice at the end how a reporter tried to give Bryson a dig about "being nervous and icing the puck early before settling in" (or words to that effect), and Granato politely and professionally defused the Q by calmly acknowledging and owning the fact that the icing had occurred, and then immediately stating that about 5 other guys had done the exact same thing (the implication being that Bryson was just fine and played as competently as everyone else). Bravo Donnie G — pushed back against a reporter who may have added a twist of snark into a Q …
    a) WITHOUT losing his temper
    b) WITHOUT losing his composure
    c) WITHOUT becoming defensive, or otherwise "attacking" the reporter for doing his job
    d) WITHOUT unprofessionally embarrassing the reporter
    e) WITHOUT throwing any other Sabre by name "under the bus" in his answer, AND
    f) WITH BOOSTING/REINFORCING the targeted player's confidence.

  3. Definitely need to find a way to start better, we really struggle to win games when we give up the first goal and have to play from behind. The Sabres played great today, Colorado looked like they would rather be watching football than playing hockey…

  4. Granato always has the wisest things to say as a passionate coach. Always one step ahead of the players, reporters, and fans. Love to see it!
