They looked poised and knew exactly where to be to disrupt any opportunities by Detroit to get something going, whether it be 5v5 or special teams. How is this season thus any different from the last seven? Start out strong, burn out, and regress to the 7th place team that this is.
Over the next couple of weeks this team could easily be 10 – 4 – 3 the problem is WILL THEY? They have the talent and if they can stay consistent they should be a playoff contender

Love the Wings, but they basically still suck. Problem is, we as Wing fans want so badly for that "multi-year playoff team" to show up, and the results we keep getting over and over is "too little, too late." These so-called great picks in this Yzer-plan are becoming more hype than expected. I'm not convinced that Stevie Y is our guy. He may not be the problem since he was able to bring a winner to TB, but it is reality that he has not been able to do the same for the Wings. Maybe it's the Fedorov curse—– you know, not retiring Sergei's number (91) and not even trying to get Sergei involved again in the Wings organization. That rumor floating around within the past couple of seasons about Sergei "just maybe" having a shot at coaching or being part of the coaching staff with the Wings just did not materialize. Hope Stevie Y isn't jinxed with the Wings…. Not sure if Lalonde is the coach you want for these kids. Wings need to clone Scottie Bowman if they want to bring back the Wings of yesteryear….
Teams made adjustments to the Wings power play and we can now return to normalcy. Aside from the 3rd period vs Seattle, the pp has gone 1-15 over the last 4 games.
They had us going for a few brief moments. Back to reality.
