At 10% point of the season Mintyukov is the best defenseman on his team. The only D with a Corsi % over 50% is no small matter as it shows he carries the play in a positive way for his team. Right up there in hits and blocks as well showing he isn’t playing as the fourth forward. Our eyes are not deceiving us, he is fantastic.
Calder candidate? Absolutely. At this point Carlsson 3 points, Fantilli 4 points, and Bedard 5 points. So no one is running away with offensive production.
