The Boston Bruins passed their first test against an Eastern Conference opponent, beating the upstart Detroit Red Wings 4-1.
David Pastrnak scored his second penalty shot goal of the season to help overcome a strong third period from Detroit, and capped it with an empty netter.
Matt Poitras had his point streak ended, but he had some monster shifts that SHOULD seal his fate as a full time Bruin this season. Boston will announce a decision on whether he’s going back to junior following tonight’s game against the Florida Panthers.

That was a fun game. I still think they threw that 7th game so they wouldn't set a franchise record to curse themselves. Lol! (Kidding, maybe?)
They're getting their competition legs back. All those little tendons and muscles are starting to pop back up and kick in. As a coach, we clearly see it takes about 2-3 weeks til we see body and brain start to coordinate at an elite level at the beginning of a new season
Jeremy clearly had a great intense summer of training, he came into the season warmed up- now to keep both goalies healthy.
Don't touch that goalie tandem. If it ain't broke? Do NOT fix it.
Oh I think Pasta was playing coy on that bank shot. For a guy who lives on ice? he knew more or less what he was doing.
Matt was a beast. As were many other players. He doesn't need to get on the board for us to see what he does. Just amazing ability to hang on to that Puck and evade hits. I don't think Bergeron evaded hits that well.
I'm not comparing Matt to anyone – this kid's got something to show us beyond our reality.
Can't wait to see him take on Tka-chokehold and the Panthers.

I don't think Matt is going anywhere – the fans will tar and feather Sweeney if he sends Matt back down.
They'll keep him up, the same way they did with Jeremy.
Matt is already a fan favorite. He'll be playing NHL ice time unless something strange happens. I'm betting his teammates want him there and that's probably the vote that's going to count.

As a parent of a goalie, always kept an extra new throat guard in the vehicle. Always ready to run out to the parking lot to grab it.

Im still not sure why zacha was on the penalty kill against the ducks with the game on the line. Monty is a good coach, but he makes some questionable personnel decisions sometimes.

Heinen was a full participant at todays (Monday) practice … even tho there’s been no movement on his PTO … I really hope they’re not going to send Poitras back to Guelph and replace him with Heinen once the 9 games are up. Heinen would be a better option over Brown TBH. Fingers crossed Poitras sticks with the club.
I got home from work just in time to watch your show as a warm up for the 4:00 o'clock game (sorry to rub it in!) Good show Ianas always cause now I'm stoked to see if Poitras can finish his trial with some more stellar play and of course the hope of beating the Florida Pussy Cats.😅
