JOE THORNTON was the ONLY player to move OWEN NOLAN down from my all-time favorite hockey player.
Jumbo was THE San Jose Shark, for me. Great on and off the ice. ELITE talent. ELITE personality. Hall of Fame LOCK.
Jumbo got Jonathan Cheechoo the Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy in 2005-06.
I've done a lot of art portraits (ffrom TIME magazine covers to working with the San Francisco Giants and Warriors), and Jumbo Joe WILL be a project I'm going to do. He's the BEST. THANK YOU for this video… Favorite Jumbo moment? Too many to mention and I'm sure I've forgotten a million… but beating the Kings in the 2011 playoffs was probably #1.
