Shit.

Nico was supposed to be signing at Sports Minded later this month with tickets on sale tomorrow, but they’ve postponed. Hoping this is strictly precautionary….

We will know shortly then. If he’s out that long he should be going to IR

  2. The most optimistic reading is that since tickets would’ve gone on sale tomorrow, they felt the need to get ahead of it. But it’s hard not to look at this as them having little expectation he’ll be healthy three weeks from now. Which again begs the question (not to sound like a broken record here), why the fuck did they let him go back out after he was hit?

I know this is potentially naively and blindly optimistic and I’m not expecting like details upon details of information from the Devils, but I refuse to react until we hear something official from Ruff/Devils regarding Nico’s status.

This postponement could be for any number of reasons not related to Nico’s injury status (or it could be solely because of it).

But Imma wait until practice/post practice tomorrow to see what’s what.

If he is in fact injured it’d be very odd to “find out” from a canceled signing as opposed to from the team.

Really means nothing for his health and whether he’ll be playing by then. If he’s concussed which makes perfect sense given they said he’s being evaluated day by day. There’s no time tables for concussions. He could be back super soon and he could miss months and months of action.

Interesting that a sports memorabilia shop (a good one at that) gives us an injury alert before the Devils would.

Not that I’m wishing poorly on Nico, this feels like a precautionary tactic than anything else.
