This hilarious interview at the NHL Heritage classic between the Calgary Flames and the Edmonton Oilers brings back some terrible and comedic memories for Vancouver Canucks fans as Kevin Bieksa and Chris Tanev discuss old times. This refers to the eventual downfall of the Canucks team and Roberto Luongo being traded due to John Tortorella’s decision at the 2014 Heritage Classic.

Bieksa is a beauty
poor dude needs some chiclets lol
❤ Juice.
The Torts slander Bieksa and Tanev were both indirectly throwing around was legendary
I think when Messier was a Canuck ranks as one of the worst times to be a Canuck fan. Linden being traded away sucked so much. I HATED it when they hired tortarella. That guy is the worst coach ever.
Having Lu traded was awful too. Devastating, really. Bieksa is AWESOME isn't he? Loved him as a player, love him in media. His sass is what makes him so cool. Here's hoping for many great Canucks seasons from now on though!
Bieska is such a beauty
hahah, took the others a moment to get the joke, then they started cracking up.
Bieksa is the best commentator on the planet. He's one of the few guys left who isn't dull, boring and corporate. I'm shocked he hasn't been "let go quietly" by Rogers. They like their Tomlinsons not Bieksas.
Bieksa is the only reason I watch the talkies after the game …
The early 2010s was such a dominant time for the canucks with coming nearly 1 win short from winning a cup for the first time and obviously the back to back presidents trophies in both 2011 and 2012. Ever since the mid 2010s the Canucks have been inconsistent and mediocre at best. I personally thought it was kind of unfair they fired tortorella after just 1 season and would've preferred it if they maybe did it during the 2014-2015 season or after the 2014-2015 season ended if they really had to do it. Letting a guy go after 2 seasons is fine if the right reasons are there but after just 1 season seems just dirty. It should be 2 seasons or more for letting guys go if things don't pan out 1 season seems unfair. Their lackluster 2013-2014 season wasn't torts' fault at all (except for obviously the herritage classic not starting luongo leading to luongo getting traded at the deadline rather than simply wait until the off season like they did with kesler) I'm no canucks fan by any means but I sure did have a lot of respect for them especially in the early 2010s when they were the face of the western conference.
Couldn’t agree more!
Bieksa is the future of hockey broadcasters.
He brings a much needed element to the profession.
Should've asked Tanev ( Gramps) about 19 and Sam bennit, Johnny hockey's haisty departure from Cal – Gary ? We all have a sense of humor, no? The Canadian team's under Betmans' ridiculousness all get participant medals . Sad I know. Bieksa he's always been a funny guy. Maybe the digital boards, maybe next interview tackle that?
As an Oiler fan that hated Bieksa as a player, I absolutely love him in the desk. He's such a great communicator with his humor and league inside knowledge. Chirps are great and his style is always classy.
One of the dumbest coaching decisions ever. 👎👎
That thumbnail though, Tanev—dude looks like a jack-o’-lantern! 🎃
I have the greatest respect for Kevin over how he tried to help Rick Rypien.
You did not even mention the the winner of that 2014 heritage classic Van vs OTT .
Add correct context to the story smh
Let me remind you
Go Sens Go !!!
Yes Bieksa does have that edge, thanks for highlighting it out.
Canucks are coming out of the darkest decade and the Flames are beginning it!
They should have kept the 2011 team together and have kept trying to win the cup like Tampa did. Tampa lost and lost until they won a few cups. Canucks dismantled to quickly in retrospect
