Habs Trade Talk – Jesse Puljujarvi?



OK Guys, in today’s video, its time to take a look at some recent trade chatter thats been surfacing around the NHL. Jesse Puljujarvi of the Edmonton Oilers is likely to be moved over the summer, and journalists are already discussing various ideas linking him to the Montreal Canadiens. Habs first rounder Ryan Poehling being a name that comes to mind, that could likely go the other way.

    I think he’s worth getting for the Caufield line, he drives the play and is one of the best forechecking forwards in the league. He’s big enough and I think he can go in the corners and help them a lot. My off-season plan revolves around getting him and Nichushkin from the UFA market.

    Jesse is arbitration eligible. Thats the thing so he will probably make 3 million dollars this for a guy that had a tough time producing with McDavid. 8% shooting on high danger chances from Mcdavid isnt great, we saw the difference with Kane. Poehling makes way less money which suits the Oilers cap. This is much closer than ppl think. Every team needs cheap bottom 6 like Poehling with cost control. Jesse is due a raise that he probably isnt worth

    Puljujarvi cant play in the playoffs. He avoids checks rather than make a play. That's why the oilers don't want him. Montreal doesn't need people that wont compete in the playoffs!

    Poehling always trends up throughout his career.. he starts slows and gets better each season. It's easy to get impatient but I'd hold on to him for a least one more year.

    RP suffered a wrist injury that prevented him to be a game shape at the start of the pre season, he was being the 8 ball from the go but not his fault. Don’t fucking trade him, he played well later when he got into game shape. MSL will help him greatly next season. Also Jesse P is slow and that’s not what the Gorton/Hughes era represents. I really doubt this trade happens.

    Ummm yeah fucking keep your minus 20 player in Montreal. Fuxk that trade ALL DAY LONG. Gotra be sniffing glue to think thats a fair trade.

    I’d do that one for one. Worth the risk. I don’t think poehling has much of an opportunity to thrive in mtl. Honestly I think Arizona would be a good spot for him

    Not sure poehing will become what we thought he would when drafted. He doesn't seem to able to break out.
