Oof. Remember winning hockey games. That was fun.

About as expected. It’s still early is about the only “positive” thing you can say. Not only have they been bad, they’re boring to watch and give little reason to get excited.

Sell it all sell it all sell it all overinvest in a dogshit defense core who doesn’t perform (we knew this for 2 years now) and now we have a matching shit offense core who doesn’t perform to match!

We’ve had our time to be consistent playoff performers let’s stop being stupid and take a few years to tank to refuel for more playoff consistency! Clearly we don’t have the means to be any sort of competitive team over spans longer than 1-2 game flashes in the pan.

You can !REMINDME March 31st when we are 5th in the division because we desperately tried to hang in and do well. With no good picks and certainly no playoff spot.

Feel bad for Buchnevich, Parayko, Blais, Sundqvist, Binnington who’ve all been putting up great efforts.

I think we will be seeing other teams backup goalies a lot this season

I’d like to thank Doug Armstrong for this defense

Wait 4’days for hockey. The one game we get Panger and it’s blacked out for me. Trying the whole game trying to get s good stream and mirror it to my tv. All laggy and buffering. Good times. LGB 🤦‍♂️

The 2023-24 St. Louis Blues: now with even more “who fucking cares” energy

How many goals do we have this season?

  9. kerowhack

We’re a .500 team on paper, and I’m not sure we can even live up to that this year.

I wasn’t able to watch the game. I assume by all these replies it was the standard game we are all used to seeing?

takeaways. fans need to calm down on perspective on how games in tilted matchups like tonight are supposed to go. This game is strictly on the offense not being able to net goals early. first 10 minutes blues came out buzzing with nothing to show for it. last game flat whole first period. both those things are the same if there’s 0 goals.

tucker over perunovich needs to stop. perunovich when he is out there is great with the puck. he makes smart defensive plays. yes he is little and will get bodied. but TUcker is supposed to be a hard hitter and I haven’t seen that yet this year. perunovich wouldn’t be routinely be beaten wide like he has. get him out there and let the guy skate.

until kyrou/schenn/buchy/thomas start potting pucks early, everything else doesn’t matter. This is Thomas 2nd goal. both while trailing. These goals are meaningless. need difference making tone setting play. you are paid the most, you have to deliver the most.

Wouldn’t be surprised if we get less than 5 wins this month. Then maybe we’ll sell anyone people are willing to take.

I for one am shocked that my pregame prediction of a 7-0 Blues win fell through

I hate it when the St. Louis Blues lose hockey games. I also hate it that nothing has improved with this team since last season’s trade deadline.

You are not going to score many goals when there is no forward on this team right now that is playing above a 3rd liner. And we know that this defense is the same trash from last year so we aren’t going to win many games by shutting teams down. We won’t win the special teams game because we are dead last in the league on the power play, and in the bottom half on the PK. Binnington can keep us in games for awhile just like last year, and even steal a few wins, but he can’t save a team that’s already dead.

I love this team and always will. I’ve been through some dark years with them and come out the other side, and we will again. This team is just bad, and it will be bad until we can get out from these awful contracts. This team is not a retool, it’s a rebuild, there’s just not much here to build with right now. Even if the $8 million dollar men can get it together on a consistent basis, there’s not enough around them, and this D spots teams 2 goals every night.

Weather it’s Army or someone who replaces him, this team needs an identity and direction because right now we have neither. Are we going to be a big heavy team who likes to grind out low scoring games and plays a strong defensive style like the Islanders, or are we going to be a fast break transition team that’s willing to sacrifice some of the hitting and is a bit looser on defense but makes up for it by scoring tons of goals? Right now we are a mutt, a crossbreed that doesn’t nothing good except leave our goalies hung out to dry. I feel like Chief likes the heavy game but Army hasn’t given him the forwards to really play that way outside Blais, Neighbours, and Sunny; and we don’t have the defense to support that style of play either. So here we sit in the mess Army made, contract hell and we have to tough it out until the mess is cleaned up or the contracts expire.

Just how I see it. Going through down times is part of being a fan, I just hope it doesn’t take as long as I think it’s going to. I’ll always love my Blues, it’s just frustrating to see them like this.

I would very much like to drop the vaneer of responsible hockey and play fun hockey like last year. This team is not built for much, but it’s especially not built for a box + 1
