NHL Return May 15? Elvis Signs + Sandin to Flyers?

NHL Return May 15? Elvis Signs + Sandin to Flyers?
There are NHL Rumours that they could call back their players for May 15th to start quarantine phase and get ready for training camp before finishing the season. Also talk of NHL Playoffs 2020 or Stanley Cup Playoffs 2020 possibly being held in one location. NHL Draft 2020 could be held earlier than originally scheduled.

  1. I’m sorry but honestly if it is true that they are coming back for nhl it will be Impossible with them breaking heath guidelines. Number 1. Alberta banned gatherings of 15 or more people, teams are 23 man rosters plus coaches equippment staff. Number 2 how are they gunna be able to social distance on the benches when there talking about plays and coaches talking to players and staff. 3 will they ban contact . 4. How will they do it if International travel is banned now till probably next year. 5. Border between Canada and states is closed.

  2. Ron Mclean's 'in conversation' with Gary Bettman the other day didn't seem to be that soon

  3. May 15th seems a bit optimistic but ,I'm ready whenever they resume play–Good signings by the Blue Jackets, locking up their goaltending for a few years.

  4. I would really like to see a 2020 playoff but I don't think it would be fair honestly I think that you should just skip it because we lost so much hockey time it may not be fair at least that's my opinion

  5. I can imagine asking players to come back May 15 but they would not start practicing until May 29th.
The border between Canada and US would have to reopen though one could claim that a player returning to work is essential or commercial.
Some teams would not be allowed to practice due to group size and having a large contingents travel to one common location will not be easy.
What happens if a player become sick?
Should the league simply negotiate with its broadcaster about rate of future rights as opposed to forcing a restart and diluting the quality of the games?

  6. I believe this is a lot about nothing by the NHL. since the virus does not show any signs of dissipating. Unless a vaccine is discovered, the NHL may have to start worrying about next season, forget about this season.
And why the push for the draft? You could hold it the day before next season's training camp opens (if there is one), and what would it matter?
I believe the sport in the best position to be the first to start up, will be horse racing. People can bet from home and there is very little contact between people. If that goes without a hitch, there may be hope for the other sports.

  7. No way i see NHL returning back by May 15th players would need 2-3 weeks just to get back into shape. And there's hardly anytime for them to get back into condition. Players wound need to be allowed back into the States that live overseas. Just can't see this happening anytime soon.

  8. Alberta Premier Jason Kenney said yesterday that NHL in Edmonton this summer is a definite possibility without fans
