My concern is not the Slafkovsky pick … it is the handling of his development…. I far far prefer how SEATTLE has developed Wright… wright played everything last year… NHL OHL AHL AHL playoffs… wright then went to Summer Development camp and then the Rookie showcase plus he played in World Juniors

THOSE who said that Slaf would benefit from Reps in the NHL have no evidence of this helping
Montreal succumbed to pressure to have first overall play in nhl
But on the flip side MONTREAL maybe able to sign Slaf for very little long term
Ps we cannot point to Kotkaniemi recent successes because he is not playing for us
Habs have botched Slaf badly
At least they are not making the same mistake with Reinbacher who should play in Europe then at some point come to Laval to get used to small ice

With seven points each, Cooley (one goal, six assists) and Mintyukov (one goal, six assists) are tied with Ridly Greig of the Ottawa Senators for the NHL lead in points among rookies. Anaheim's Leo Carlsson four points, (3 goals, 1 assist)… coaching does make a difference

I think Montreal will win a little less than half their games and three overtime losses. I put them at 15 points for November
Very impressive Cooley is. Magnificent speed..creative
Not at all concerned about the draft picks. We'll probably see a couple of late bloomers emerge, sort of like KK. If you compare this to MB's tenure, player development is already looking much better
I have yet to watch an Arizona game , Cooley has NO shots on goal but has 5 PPP , So Cooley is dependable on the PP and obviously makes great passes something I haven't seen from SLAFKOVSKY yet. Cooley has only 1 penalty , Slaf has 3 really bad penalties, 2 Highsticking penalties due to very poor /sloppy stick control. SLAF has 48 NHL games under his belt and even though he is improving, I am more impressed by Cooley so early in his NHL carrer , however time will tell if Slaf will gain the NHL I.Q. level required to become a standout NHL player that Cooley so far is showing .

From November 7th – 18th.. 12 days with 7 games… makes you wonder where the Safety Department is? .. Montreal's 18th game is against Boston on November 18th …
