My sens traded this guy, because an already 29 year old ahl journeyman (Hammond) who was having a terrible ahl year, came up with Lehner and Andy hurt and went extreme flash in the pan for 2 months outplaying Carey Price with a .94 sv%. Two months of eyebrow raising stats from Hammond, and you felt you could move on from a guy you draft, developed, world junior goalie, ahl champion goalie who carried that team to the calder, and had been developing pretty well, though you gave him inconsistent games and showed a blatant bias towards Anderson even when he sucked for the first 3 months of 2013. Now Lehner is in the NYI, and in Ottawa Anderson is old and worn out, Condon (hammond 2.0) sucks and is in the ahl, we have a journeyman 6.00gaa Mike McKenna in net instead. Lehner was a ufa this off season signed for 1.5m, this after a year where the Sens top to bottom including both goalies Anderson and Condon were horrible last year… You couldnt throw 2.5M at Lehner in a 1 year deal? You kidding me? I miss this guy and even DURING Hammonds crazy run from nowhere i was worried this would prompt a Lehner trade. Hammonds run was a massive outliar stats wise for him. So there was NO REASON to believe that was the real him. Never should have traded Lehner.
