Locked on Wild POSTCAST: Wild Complete 3 Goal Comeback in 5-4 Shootout Win!

The Minnesota Wild snapped a 4 game losing streak by beating the New York Rangers 5-4 in a shootout on Saturday night at Xcel Energy Center. The Wild trailed early 3-0 after Filip Gustavsson allowed goals on 3 of the first 4 shots he faced. Marc-Andre Fleury came in relief of Gustavsson and watched the Wild stage a comeback with 2 goals in the second period from Ryan Hartman and Joel Eriksson Ek. The Wild scored 2 more times in the third period on goals from Mats Zuccarello and Marco Rossi to take a 4-3 lead. After the Rangers tied the game, and overtime went scoreless, Matt Boldy and Mats Zuccarello scored in the shootout to seal the win. The Wild head on the road for 3 games in New York starting with the Islanders on Tuesday night.

  1. Where to begin, Rossi is showing why
He was a number one pick , adding 15
Pounds of muscle makes all the difference , we now have a first line
That's as good as any line in the NHL
Rossi will win the Calder Cup,yep I'm
Calling it, Faber is really impressive
    He's playing beyond his years,
Like I said , he's a diamond that's going to be really SHINY
When spergon comes back, the Wild
Will have three strong lines with backup waiting, , as hard as I am on this team , I'm telling you right now
This team is going on a run as bad as they were, is as good as they will be,

  2. Kaprizov Rossi Boldy , will be the best line the Wild have ever had , they will dominate , every team they play ,yes I think there that good,

  3. Beautiful game! Great intensity and puck movement all night. Kaprizov looked like a completely different player, if they keep up this play that first line is gonna do some damage. Pretty happy with everything I saw from the new look lines, though I am a bit worried about the goalie situation. Way to battle back and get the win! Really this game could have ended in regulation if not for a couple rangers players. Quick, Lindgren, and Miller all saved the Rangers on multiple occasions. Obviously I don’t expect this kinda game every night but hopefully it’s the start of consistent positive play for the Wild!

  4. You’re right I thought the power play looked a lot better tonight despite not scoring. Good puck movement and chance creation. Probably would have got one if not for some great defensive plays by individual Rangers players

  5. "Let the offense lead" Damn Seth that is the move for sure at the current moment in time. I'm cool with letting the possible D take over when Spurgey and Freddy are back but you have to play to your strengths. And with the new line combos (through 1 and 2/3 games) say offense is the strength. Also D played nice 👌 tonight. Only 18 SOG is what I'm talking about. This is the new team direction. Sorry not sorry for the shake up. Like the new Beyond Our Ice was titled, elevate your role. Or re evaluate your role as the lines stand. Line numbers aside from 4 don't mean much on this team. Roll all 3 and let the 4th clean up the dirty work and apply some fresh legs/pressure when opportune.

  6. Gotta enjoy the wins when they come..Fabers look on the net side tap in was a thing of beauty…Team MVP so far.. Still some glaring issues to address…Lets see them string a few together before a HUGE over reaction saying alls well. GREAT COMEBACK!!! GREAT FOR THE HOME FANS!!

  7. Loved the pace and effort this game. Loved to see Middleton fired up after those 2 quick ones. Think it’s time to give Jesper a few games?

  8. Quick was outstanding. Super happy to see the forwards clicking. Also, its a treat seeing Ek, Maroon, and Foligno with Middsy mucking it up in the slot. What a nightmare to cover lol

  9. I don’t know I think we are letting Gus Bus fall on the sword for the 1st. Yeah sure he had an off night. However Middleton has been getting beat in front of the net all year and the 3 goal you let them get wide open below the dot . We’re the F was the back check and hustle after being down 2???? We got lucky last night but changes nothing. 3 of 4 Middleton was in front of our net😳😳😳

  10. Wouldn’t be hilarious if somehow Rossi took rookie honors after all the criticism he received prior to the seasons start? Why not, he’s playing at a high level even though we know the league has penciled in Bedard since day 1. Great game to attend – although when it was 3-0 an hour after the Gopher football collapse and I was beginning to think it’s going to be a weekend sweep of losses. Great way to have a nightcap at Mancinni’s – FINALLY. Road trip 2-1, maybe 2-0-1…If you look at the standings, they are still bunched so no need to panic.
