I took my family to that game last night. I grew up in Toronto and am a Leafs fan by birth. I’ve been in Chicago for over a decade, and my wife/kids were born here. That said, since I brought them in to hockey they have always been Leafs fans. Part way in to second period my son whispered to me “Dad, can I have a Blackhawks jersey?” Of course he can, he doesn’t have to cheer for dad’s teams. That said, we didn’t really come to watch the Hawks win, but to watch the Panthers lose. We hate the Panthers, and you guys did an amazing job shutting on them and shutting them down. But something happened in that game, to all of us. We all became Hawks fans. I mean, I’ll still be a Leafs fan first, but I feel like my “one team only” rule has to go away. I was cheering as loud as anyone in the building, and wow we loved the game. We love Fifty Third, where we toured the locker room before the game, and we skate there frequently. Thank you Chicago, for the amazing hockey environment.
