Jeremy Lauzon takes down Leon Draisaitl – Have your say!
With all the talk of Brad Marchand taking down Timothy Liljegren, should we now be asking about this Jeremy Lauzon takedown of Leon Draisaitl? Have your say!
That's a weird one. Looks like Lauzon initiates, but also takes the brunt of it. I still think the Marchand one should have at least been a 2 minute tripping minor. This one could have been two for boarding on Lauzon, but Draisaitl kinda gets the better of him and Lauzon goes into the boards pretty badly.
The most interesting part of this channel to me is learning how others see dangerous plays. I'm an avid fan, but never had the chance to play on ice, so I just don't see things quite the same way as people who have played. To me, these are both dangerous plays at the boards, and I guess I don't see what it's legal to go after an opposing player before either of you is at the puck. Both plays seem to be a bit more than just establishing body positioning, either on purpose, or by accident.
Marchand gets a poor assessment from most people for his latest "slew foot".. it was just 2 guys going into the boards, just like this vid. And trust me, i hate the bruins and im not a fan of marchand by any means. Marchand's reputation does nothing to help him, but to call his latest controversial incident an attempt to injure is reaching if you ask me.

Nothing wrong here. Lauzon could've really hurt himself with that left leg bending that way on impact as well.

Whether intentional or not it's still a trip. I hope the refs called this one.
