Man, poor Biro. He really doesn’t deserve his injury luck and it’s costing him serious opportunities in the NHL. No doubt he’ll go to Rochester for conditioning, and who knows if Savoie, Benson, or Rousek will have stolen his spot by the time he can return. Even Quinn will be back soon, taking another spot away from this group of prospects.
That said, I’m glad that we are finally making room for these guys on the roster. Seems that Jost and Olofsson are being passed in the depth favor of Rousek and Savoie, and it seems like Johnson (Ryan) is getting a chance to pass Stillman and Bryson as well. I know this is the first year of our “window”, but it’s still a crucial year to see which players are going to be ready to step into the upcoming vacancies. Next year, Okie is gone, Girgs is probably gone, Olofsson will be gone, and potentially one or two more – so having this next wave getting some experience while still competing each night is a good look for us.

What a fun season this is going to be. We are likely going to get to enjoy the debuts of benson Savoie Kulich Rosen biro and probably a few others. The future is now, but it’s also next year, and the year after that, and the year after that…
