It’s just comical at this point. We need 6+ to win against a non bottom-feeder team and there’s still a chance we go to OT, which is a guaranteed loss. I get it, the team isn’t as good as they once were, but this is more than just personnel issues. Our defense is in complete shambles since we lost Lalonde and whatever the fuck Blashill is doing isn’t helping. Glad to get a point, but honestly I would rather lose outright than keep choking away huge leads to the team we’re playing in round 1, assuming we even make the playoffs.

This team can’t expect anything until they begin playing 60 minutes and stop losing their heads. Up 1 goal to begin the third we had our own player assist their goal with a stupid pass out of the zone and then gave up a breakaway right after the face off. Just terrible mental mistakes. Not to even mention whatever the hell OT is.

Serious note whichever assistant is in charge of the OT schemes needs to go. 13 OT losses in a row, at least 4 of them in a row where we have a puck possession time under 10 seconds. Figure it the fuck out.
The Lightning have now lost 11 straight games that end in OT. 8 of them are in 3 on 3 (regular season) and 3 of them are in the playoffs vs Toronto. Last overtime win was December 3, 2022 vs Toronto.
At this point (like 6 OT losses ago) this shit is on Cooper. He needs to figure it out.

It’s a mental problem against Toronto and in OT at this point. Don’t know how to fix that but they need to get out of their heads.
If you need to hear the positives:
-we play again tomorrow, no need to sit in this too long with another 2 divisional points up for grabs
-we don’t play Toronto again until April so we can ignore that problem for now at least
-Motte looked really good and it’ll be nice to have him back
-Toronto is a good team that desperately needed a win and was going to play hard regardless, and we still got a point which is more than I thought we would going into today’s game, it just felt like a scheduled loss
Now put Mikey and Bogo back in tomorrow and take care of the next few games.
Not making excuses for anyone, but in the beging of the season I think we would all agree that every point we earned without Vasy would be huge. Well we are earning a lot of loser points, but points nonetheless. They all count at the end of the season.

Can anyone explain to me what happened on the marner goal where Hedman wasn’t allowed to change for the face off so they decided to make the change right after causing him to be late to get to marner. I don’t get it. I thought you could do a full change after a goal for a center ice face off?
Hell, three years ago an OT game was a sure thing for the Bolts, now it’s just sure agony.

This team is just middle of the pack now. Can’t hold onto a lead and can’t push back when it counts. This team only beats the bottom teams and can’t win against the good teams. They can’t lock anything down when they really need to. I’m going to guess a wild card spot is the best we can hope for.

Whoever thinks Toronto has our number is just wrong. Add vasy and it ends in regular time both times in our favor. I’m not worried. We are above them in standings rn tied in points without him. I think the time apart will make the team more critical about being better defensively and get it together over the season.
