Marchand trip on Liljegren – Have your say!

Brad Marchand appeared to take out Timothy Liljegren’s left leg with his stick as they went into the corner. Liljegren looked to be seriously injured on the play. No penalty was called, and Ryan Reaves wasn’t put out the next shift even though Marchand stayed on the ice. What are your thoughts?

  1. Let's stop with the baby comments this is FN hockey children. Win some loose some. Give A hit take a hit. If they don't know by now who Brad is, then they are not in the game. We've seen worse. Every one would love to have this guy on their roster sheet. You have to be tough when you go into the corners. And it looks like he was already kinda stumbling, and Brad helped him finish. Lol. That's hockey, folks.

  2. Think everyone knows that Marchand is a dirty player period. NHL should review this play diligently and should be fined and penalized heavily for his actions. Can’t say it was done viciously but the intent was there 💯 def did what he did but not aware that they were that close to the boards, Marchand done things like more than once nothing new. @toughcall

  3. To be fair. The leafs obviously never thought he did anything wrong. They did absolutely nothing about that play. Very sad.

  4. Brad Marchand is the dirtiest player in the league PERIOD! I have watched him play in many arenas in North America and he never fails to do something dirty in every game. He is famous for his slew foots and cheap shots. I have no idea why some team doesn't just take him out and end all this BS

  5. not sure that was on purpose but the leafs are stil a pathetic team … they've been changing their bottom 6 for almost a decade now when they should of been getting rid of the non playoff performers … leafs big guns only fire during the softer regular season not during the intense playoffs … they're the wrong caliber lol

  6. same piece of crap doing the same piece of crap stuff and they had the audacity to put a C on this guy, what a great role model golf clap

  7. Sorry
Not intentional , even with his history. Incidental contact on the play
Lilligren foot gets hooked on Marchands and that’s why his left foot is in that position. They both had the brakes on ….. and it’s still a contact sport !!

  8. I'm not sure why other teams , as well, wouldn't want to erase this asshole from the league. How any one wouldn't believe it was intentional. Looked to me like he was shoveling gravel. And right in front of a veteran Ref., who should also lose his job. That was so obvious.

  9. Bruins fan here classic Marchand. If it was any other player I'd say he was going for his stick. If he was actually going for his stick and missed, he should have a reputation that gets him in trouble anyway. Not sure how he avoided at least a game suspension so early in the season.

  10. There are several issues with this situation: Marchand's stick twist between the legs and his left skate hooked Liljegren's right foot. Either one of these actions should have elicited a penalty. More importantly, this situation is an injury that could have been avoided and unquestionably a missed call by the referee.

  11. Can opener or cork screw 3 ft from the boards. Dangerous area. Still a rat. And they named this guy captain? Act like a captain not a rat. Shame.
