“Colorado Avalanche forward Ondrej Pavel waited in anticipation for his rookie lap and NHL debut with one thing in mind.
“Hopefully, I don’t wipe out in the corner,” Pavel said Tuesday morning in the pregame dressing room.
Mission accomplished. He didn’t miss a step Tuesday night at Ball Arena before appearing in his first Avs game against the New Jersey Devils.
Pavel, 23, signed with the team last March as a college free agent from Minnesota State University. He got the call Sunday that he would be activated with fourth-line center Fredrik Olofsson considered “day-to-day” with an upper-body injury.”
