there is something uniquely attractive about Dan Potash.

i think it’s the goofy charm

So on the current coverage I get both. And I want both.
As for where they should be assigned…
1. Intermission quickly became “go away for 15 minutes and see if the Internet says Jay Caufield did something funny” so I want the veteran, Potash, there.
2. Hailey is very very very very good for a rookie rinksider and I always support my fellow OU alums.

Dan. I hate seeing that wave from behind when he’s upstairs. He just seems so unhappy there sometimes.

Going with my fellow Ohio University alum Hailey….

Does anyone know if he wanted his new role or if he was forced into it?

Both. Doing the exact exact job that they are doing now.

When you compare her to the people who do the same role for ESPN & other national outlets, I think Hailey is great. Professional, knows her stuff, nothing really negative to say at all. But Potash has that chemistry with long time members of the org that hits different.

There is no contest here. Potash, every time.

Potash. I’m all for giving Hailey a chance but I don’t think it should be in place of the master class Potash.

I saw Dan Potash at a Qdoba once. His license plate said DJ PO. Gimme Dan.

Potash. The quirky connection he has with the guys is where his strength is. It’s like why move him to something he’s not as good at? I don’t know anything about Hunter. I’ve got nothing against her, but she’s not fun or quirky or really anything other than a hot blonde broadcaster. Why not put her behind the desk?

Why not both?

Best comparison I’ve got is a classic steak dinner
Potash- he’s the perfectly cooked ribeye, done just right, not to much of anything, the star of the show. Blends the whole plate together both game and broadcast crew.
Caufield- he’s the potato. Fucking bland, just filler but I guess I’ll eat it cause it’s there.
Bourque- he’s the steamed broccoli. People say he’s good for you, I’ll consume, but I’m not going to enjoy it.
Hunter- she’s that parsley sprig they used to put with your meal. Some (restaurant) executive decided she was nice to look at and that people would agree so they threw her on there to dress things up. People sort of think, there’s another reason she’s there, like maybe a palette cleanser, but really she’s just decoration.
Errey- he’s the drunk uncle that used to take you out to eat before your cheating hussy aunt divorced him. Sure he wasn’t the best at what he did but he was fun to hang with and gave a hokey down home feeling to the game(meal)

Give me Dan the man all day everyday.

Potash for sure… Hunter is okay I think I’d rather see her do the studio work and have Potash back at rinkside.

Met both at training camp….both beautiful people inside and out.

Haley does fine and she seems to know hockey. She grew up in the hockey world with her father (Tim Hymewich) being a professional player — and a Penguin for a time. So, she likely learned things just by watching him and by having been around hockey all her life.
**Having said that**, I think Potash is uniquely great for that rink-side role because he is Potash and all things Potash.
And that’s not a dig on Haley. That’s just the recognition of how good Potash was in that role and how comfortable he made the players he was interviewing so that they would open up to him rather than giving the standard athlete soundbites.
The players treat Potash as if he were one of them, and it shows in his interviews.
