  1. No effort and flat footed in their own zone.
Forgot how to shot for corners and 5 holes.
    Loosing board battles.
    Can’t make passes.
    Fail on every metric.
Fail on whole team coaching and Management.

  2. I don't think it's a system problem. These guys are 'professional' hockey players. Implementing a new system is hockey 101. Pretty sure coasting around their own zone and leaving guys wide open isn't part of Woodcroft's system.

  3. The Problem in Edmonton has been 3 fold in recent years. It's their Culture, Philosophy & Approach this is on Daryl Katz for he hasn't seen or demanded change & accountability. AND now unfortunately it is up to ahem the new guy Jeff Jackson. Fire Ken Holland. Fire Dustin Schwartz. Only coach that should be on the hot seat imo Dave Manson. Ken Holland is too laid back, loyal to a fault & imo isn't decisive & can't identify players with the IT Factor he seems to favor one dimensional players who aren't ALL rounded. He's Reactive & not Proactive. He has had 4 seasons to address this teams goaltending & defensive players yet every summer he makes no real upgrades to either. Mr Jackson either promote Keith Gretzky (he should have been given the opportunity 4 years ago THEN imo) or hire Mark Messier (imo best choice NOW) he will demand change & accountability. Either promote Sylvain Rodrigue as GC or contact Dwayne Roloson at Lake Superior State or Mike Smith. Next start trading. Get Eric Comrie for a mid round pick. Trade Skinner,Broberg & (or anyone of these 4 players D Ryan/ Janmark/C Brown or T Tullio) & 1st rnd pick for J Saros. Anything more or different forget it. If you can't get J Saros then look to Montreal & trade for Jake Allen & Josh Anderson for E Bouchard & R McCleod and a lower draft pick if necessary. Next trade Foegle & Ceci & Markus Nieminem for Andrew Peeke & Adam Bogquist & K Johnson. Call Arizona & see what it would take to get Sean Durzi? Call Patrick Kane & get to play here. Do it now and see if they can salvage the season at least build for next year. Holland could have gotten Darcy Kuemper & Matt Dumba in free agency yet chose to pay big contracts to soft players like Ceci, Bouchard, McCleod and let go Klim Kostin & Kailer Yamamoto. Broberg still hasn't made the team. He could have traded for Durzi should have gotten Brett Pesce now has a opportunity for Andrew Peeke & Adam Bogquist yet is happily collecting his checks from Katz knowing that he has already stated he wasn't sure if he might even want to come back at the end of the season. His time is done NOW.😢

  4. This team just doesn't want it. Its plain as day to see. Its unfortunate as I've been waiting over 30 years to see them win again like used too. Oh well loyal to the Oil

  5. Rumour has it Oilers are going for another overall 1st pick. They already have 4 btw. Canucks has never had a 1st overall draft pick. Let that sink in.

  6. First time visitor to your site–I feel your pain.
As a Canucks fan from their inception, having experienced the pain of every shellacking the Oilers gave us, I have to say that every "sigh" in your video was both sad and delicious at the same time.

  7. draisaitl saying the cup or bust was a death sentence. it motivates ever team they play. need to win at a .725 clip to make the playoffs.

  8. Don’t wanna pile on here but to say Skinner gave them the best chance he could is accurate but not for the right reasons. You’re right it was the best he has to offer, but that third goal was embarrassing. Yeah, it’s a two on one because Nurse is also bad, but Skinner moves like a dying elephant. That push across the crease moved him six inches, and then he lunges for the puck at the end, but by “the end” I mean after it’s already in the net. If the Oil don’t get a better goaltender, they’re more toast than they already are.

  9. Hard to believe Oilers are out of the playoffs in Nov yikes. Basically, they need to win 70% of the rest of their games to have a chance.

  10. any given day any team can beat anyone! the problem is the power shift is changing, Canucks, Kings, hell even the Ducks! Maybe they will be there in the end, but no one is gonna lay down for Draisaitall and McDavid! Go Kings!

  11. As a neutral – The Sharks are the best Sharks they have been all season. One week ago, the Oilers would have run them over. I think playing them at this very moment was very unfortunate for the Oilers. But yes, they should still win this game. They needed to win this game.

I would have thought they'd go with Pickard in net tonight, but Skinner turned out to be a good choice. He bailed the Oilers out a bunch of times. The issue wasn't the tending this time, but that they didn't create many hot chances. A lot of shots fired, but only towards the last minutes they started generating real chances.

I think Woodcroft will get a few more chances, but there can't be many left now, if they keep losing.

  12. On a serious note… I do feel your pain my friend… I am a die-hard hockey nut from Minnesota that has played/coached since I was 6 and its crazy that you guys have the best player in the league playing with a top 5ish player and a decently stacked roster… but cant put it together… to come into a season with high hopes and bomb SUCKS… you really never know what can happen tho so keep your head up bud 💯

  13. To be fair…the sharks opening schedule has got to be one of the hardest in all the league. Most if not all the teams were playoff teams and last years champs included. Yes they got blown out in most games, but still an incredibly tough schedule. So point is, yes they’re bad but maybe not as bad as their record would have you believe, so maybe Edmonton just ran into a team (sharks) that just has had its share of playing crazy strong teams and are now getting their legs under them… Idk…I’m just looking for a silver lining for the oilers and I’m not even a Oilers fan lol

  14. Get rid of Swartz and Manson and get some development coaches, get rid of Nurse to open up some cap space. Keep Woodcroft only if he takes a good look in the mirror and changes a few things in his coaching. (Keep some lines together and create depth).
These are NHL players through their careers they have seen all of the systems, nothing new. They should be able to pick up a new system in a day, and should be able to switch other things on the fly during the game. Common Jay get it together starting with yourself and let’s go.

  15. I feel your pain. I don't think they should fire Woodcroft either. Maybe it's time to light a fire under their a$$es and trade some players. Nurse? Maybe one of their top 6 forwards? Something has to happen. Somethings going to happen.

  16. They have their moments but can't put together a full game of disciplined hockey. Especially getting everyone understanding defense is a team effort.
